Friday Feature: Can't Sleep?

As new parents, we long for the day our babies will sleep through the night so we can return to full nights of blissful slumber but, as we age, those uninterrupted nights of sleep go the way of our babies' cribs and onesies.

A distant memory.

Whether it's caffeine, worry, or a full bladder that interrupts our sleep, a lot of us aren't getting enough of it. According to a 2016 Consumer Reports survey, nearly one third of us struggle to fall asleep or stay asleep most nights, while more than two thirds of us had trouble sleeping at least once a week.

Can you remember the last time you slept through the night? Perhaps one of these things is the culprit.

With the myriad health benefits associated with a good night's sleep, I hope it's not too long before you're sleeping like a baby.

Saturday Special: Downsizing

AARP.org
Last Thursday was my birthday, and for some reason, I chose that day to tackle a mountain of outdated papers to be filed. The beauty of the "outdated" part was that most of the pile could be shredded or recycled, and so the mountain is no more.

So, when I came across this article yesterday on items to ditch when downsizing, it struck a chord with me. We're a ways away from actually downsizing, not ready to dispense with our vehicles or move into a smaller house just yet, but a few of the tips are useful even if you're not downsizing in the traditional sense.

I mean, after all, who doesn't want to reduce clutter? And a few guidelines often make the job easier.
