Friday Freebie: Optimism

Are you naturally a glass-half-full person? Do you look at the world through rose-colored glasses? Or, are you someone who wants to dump the first glass and toss out the rose-colored glasses while delivering a lecture on the real world?

"According to [happiness researcher, Martin] Seligman, much of the difference between attitudes comes down to the conversation people have with themselves." (Big Think Editors in their article, "Optimism is a Skill that Can be Learned"). If we change our thoughts, we can not only change our view of that partially full glass, we can develop a more positive outlook on life. And, as a bonus, we might just feel better about ourselves as well.

While we certainly can't eradicate all negativity (and even positive psychology researchers would argue that we shouldn't), making things a little rosier might not be such a bad thing. After all, what have we got to lose?
