I discovered my first Valorie Burton book one summer at the beach. I was still working full time, and in serious need of a vacation and, as it turns out, her combination of compassion and inspiration. Since then, I've remained interested in reading Burton's work, whether it's a book, a blog or an inspirational tweet.
And sometimes, one leads me to another. Her tweet about a "simple, profound way to reduce stress and get clarity" drew me to this blog post. Although I'm not sure that her breathing strategy would have the same impact on me (I'm afraid I'd fall asleep!), I do know from personal experience that finding time each day to just be can lead us to more than simply relaxation.
Need a little inspiration, or just some peace and quiet? Just breathe. According to Valorie, you'll be glad you did.
My library has 2 of her books: "Rich Minds, Rich Rewards" and "What's Holding You Back?"
ReplyDeleteSo, which one do I read first?
I don't have either of those! I have the one pictured and Successful Women Think Differently. Devoured the first, which arrived in my life at just the right time. Enjoyed the second one as well, but I'm not sure I finished it as life happened....
