Today marks the one year anniversary of my signing with my agent, Diana Flegal of Hartline Literary. When I head to my sister's for a cookout today, I'll certainly be celebrating the independence our forefathers gained for us, but on a smaller scale, I will also be celebrating my own independence as a writer. Having an agent I trust frees me from the burden of trying to find a home for my work, and allows me to "just write," leaving the task of communing with editors in Diana's capable hands.
Happy Independence Day to all...no matter how you celebrate it and with whom.
